Operation Respond is striving to increase the depth and scope of OREISTM and other tools for emergency responders. Current projects have ORI working to broaden the scope of hazardous materials information to include port container information in OREISTM and to develop OREIS ACCESS- a software correlating railroad right of way data highway grid maps.
More integrations are planned for the near future, with an emphasis on wireless and handheld applications, increased participation from motor carriers and solutions for rural emergency responders.
Operation Respond is in the process of growing the current network of OREIS users to 10,000. ORI has signed a license agreement with the Emergency Services Information Network Corporation (ESINC) to accomplish this mass deployment effort. This new affiliation will also result in a network of emergency responders of benefit to Federal and State agencies, the private sector and between and among the emergency response community.
OREIS 6.0 is currently in development will be available to emergency responders at the beginning of 2004.
